Prayer of Praise and Thanksgiving

Psalm 103:1  Bless Adonai, my soul! Everything in me, bless his holy name!

Blessed are you, my God, King of the universe. I reverence you because you are the living God. How great are your signs, how mighty your wonders. Your kingdom will never be destroyed, and your dominion will never end. I praise you because you are my God, and I have seen the great and awesome wonders you have done for me with my own eyes.

Praise be to you, Lord, from everlasting to everlasting.  Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth belongs to you. Yours, Lord, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all. Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all. You, oh Lord, are compassionate and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in love. Thank you for not dealing with me according to my sins, not because of my goodness but because of your steadfast love towards those who fear you. For as far as the east is from the west, so far have you removed my intentional disobedience from me. I give you thanks and praise your glorious name.

Jesus, you are the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. You created all things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through you and for you. You are before all things, and you hold all things together. You are the head of the church, and you are seated at the Father’s right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion. All angels, authorities, and powers are subject to you. Jesus, I thank you for emptying yourself and taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. You were obedient to the point of death on a cross so that all those who believe in you will not perish but have eternal life.

Lord, thank you for rescuing me from the dominion of darkness and bringing me into your kingdom. I am so grateful that I have the right to be called a child of God. I am happy that my citizenship is in heaven, and there is reserved for me the crown of righteousness, which you will award me at your appearance. Thank you for placing your seal on me and placing your Holy Spirit in my heart, who guarantees the fulfillment of your promise of eternal life. God, I thank you that my faith gives me sufficient courage to openly and freely approach you through Christ. I am a part of your chosen people, holy and dearly loved by you.

Lord, I thank you for your faithfulness towards me even when I am faithless. Your steadfast love never ceases, and your mercies are never-ending; they are new every morning. I am grateful for your strength and your protection from the enemy. It is such a privilege to be blessed in Christ with every spiritual blessing and be seated with you in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.

To him who is able to keep me from falling and to present me before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy, to the only wise God, our Savior be glory, majesty, power, and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.
