Prayer to Live Above Sin

Hebrews 4:15-16 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us, therefore, come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Our Father, who art in heaven, holy is your name. I thank you that my old self was crucified with Christ, and I am no longer enslaved to sin. I praise you because I know that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus because through him, I am set free from sin and death. And if the Son sets me free, I am free indeed.

Lord, I have the desire to do what pleases you, but sometimes I fail. I don’t do what I want to do; instead, I do the very thing that I hate. Your word teaches that if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it. Lord, while I am still living in this body that is subject to sin and death, I pray that you will help me walk by your Spirit, so I will not gratify the flesh’s desires. Help me put off (____name the sin/s____).

Father, help me not conform to this world’s pattern but instead be transformed by renewing my mind and setting my mind on what the Holy Spirit desires. I count myself dead to sin but alive to you in Christ Jesus. By grace, sin will not reign in my mortal body, and I will not obey its evil desires. I will not offer any part of myself to sin as an instrument of unrighteousness, but instead, I offer myself to you, my God, as one brought from death to life, and I offer every part of myself as an instrument of righteousness. I boldly declare that sin shall no longer be my master, for you chose me before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless in your presence. As the priests consecrated the articles in the temple to you, I consecrate myself, and I vow to live holy because You are holy.

Father, I commit every area of my life to your good pleasure, and I ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
