Prayer Before Bed

Psalm 3:5 I lay down and slept, yet I woke up in safety, for the Lord was watching over me.

Blessed are you, oh God, King of the universe. Thank you for taking me through another day. Thank you for protecting me from dangers seen and unseen and for not allowing the enemy to triumph over me. Thank you for being my strength in moments of weakness and providing all I needed to make it through another day. I am grateful that you have promised never to abandon or fail me; how great is your love for me. Father, please forgive me for every thought, word, or action that didn’t meet your standards. Help me to learn from my mistakes and do better tomorrow.

Lord, I cast all my concerns and anxieties upon you. I give you the worries and troubles of tomorrow, for whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. As I lay down, I declare that I will not be afraid of the terrors of the night, but my sleep will be sweet. I will wake in safety because Adonai is watching over me.

As I sleep, Lord, I pray that you will reveal yourself to me in visions and speak to me in dreams. Block every dream from the enemy and let only dreams and visions from you pass through my mind as deep sleep falls on me. I also pray that I will not forget what you have spoken or revealed to me when I awake.

I commit every area of my life to your good pleasure. I ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
