Psalm 34:18 – The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
Lord, my heart is breaking, and I am crushed in spirit. Father of compassion and all comfort, I cry out to you to heal my broken heart. I pray that you comfort and strengthen my family, friends, and many others who are mourning during this difficult time. Adonai, let this be a reminder that we should make the most of our days by living to please you. Father, I may not understand why this happened, but I say like Job, “The Lord gives, and the Lord takes away, blessed be the name of the Lord”. Oh, the depth of your wisdom and knowledge. Your ways are beyond finding out, and no one gives you counsel. You are God all by yourself; you will have mercy on whom you choose.
Adonai, I still believe in you and I hold fast to your promise that you work in all things for the good of your children. My heart may fail, but you, oh God, are the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Sovereign Lord, I draw near to you, and I place my trust in you because you are my refuge. You promise never to leave me or forsake me.
Lord, I pray that you bless me and keep me. Make your face shine on me and be gracious to me. Lord, turn your face toward me and give me peace. I ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
