General Spiritual Warfare Prayer

Ephesians 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers governing this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

Dear Father, who art in heaven, you are my strength and my defense. You are a man of war; your right hand is majestic and powerful, shattering your enemies. Who among the gods is like you, Lord? Who is like you – majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders? Praise be to the Lord my Rock, who trains my hands for war and my fingers for battle.

I am not ignorant of the devil’s schemes; I know that he prowls around like a roaring lion seeking to devour me. I know my struggle is not with human beings, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. But Lord, I remain strong in you and your mighty power. I clothe myself with your full armor so that I am equipped to stand against the devil’s schemes. I stand firm, with the belt of truth buckled around my waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, with my feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. I also take up the shield of faith, with which I can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. I put on the helmet of salvation and take the sword of the Spirit, which is your word that you esteem above your very name.

Adonai, I know you are faithful, and you will strengthen and protect me from the evil one. I thank you for giving me the authority over all the power of the enemy. I stand firm in my heavenly position because you raised me up with Christ and seated me with him in the heavenly realms. Lord, in the greatness of your majesty, I pray that you overthrow and annihilate all who oppose you and your purpose in me. I pray that you unleash your burning anger and consume them to a crisp.

Lord, when I feel overwhelmed and afraid because of the enemy that surrounds me, open my eyes as you did for Elisha’s servant that I might see that those who are with me are more than those who are with the enemy. As Elisha commanded King Joash to open the window towards Israel’s enemy and shoot the arrow of the Lord’s victory, I open the window towards the rulers, authorities, powers of this dark world, and the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms who oppose your purpose in me. As you lay your hand on mine, I shoot your arrows of victory until my enemy is completely destroyed. I cut the head off every Goliath in my life with the sword of victory. Lord, I stand in your authority, and I declare that I am victorious in Jesus name. Amen
