1 Timothy 2:1-2 I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made for all people – for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.
Holy Father, who art in heaven, holy is your name. I thank you for the leaders whom you have placed to rule over us. Lord, help me to show the proper respect and honor to my secular leaders. Help me to subject myself to the governing authorities according to your will, for there is no authority except that which you have established. Lord, I bring to you all leaders who belong to the authorizing bodies that make laws and regulations that affect us. I pray that these laws and regulations will not hinder our freedom to worship and spread the gospel. I rest in the assurance that every leader’s heart is a stream of water in your hand, and you turn it wherever you will. Adonai, please save them and open their hearts to the knowledge of the truth of Jesus Christ. Lord, I pray specifically for _____________________. May they acknowledge that you are the Most High God, and you are sovereign over all nations on earth, and you set over nations anyone you wish. Lord, as you did with King Nebuchadnezzar, please remove from power and take away the glory of those leaders whose hearts have become arrogant and hardened with pride.
Adonai, may your will be done in Jesus name. Amen
