A Prayer for Your Waiting Season

Psalm 130:6 I wait for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning.

I sing praises to you, oh Lord! You are my fortress, my God on whom I can rely. I delight in knowing that there are billions of people in the world, but you still hear me, you see me, and care about me. Thank you, Father!

My soul expectantly waits for you, and in your word I put my hope. Surely your promises cannot be thwarted and what you have spoken must be fulfilled. I pray that my faith will remain steadfast, even when there is no sign of change in my situation. I accept that waiting is a part of my beautiful journey and I also take heart because I know that I am not alone. Your word is filled with examples of men and women who waited on you and were not disappointed. David waited more than 10 years to become king, although he was already anointed, and Sarah waited 25 years for Isaac, her appointed child. Lord, I accept that your timing might not align with my expectations and desires, but I trust that you are never early or late, but you are always right on time. Lord, please remove my doubts and fears, and help me to remain faithful while I wait. Please grant me the patience not to take matters into my own hands or go ahead of you.

Abba, regardless of the outcome, I thank you for this time of waiting. You never waste a season, so I know that there is purpose here. May I not be so focused on the promise and the expected end that I miss what you’re trying to accomplish in me, through me, and for me this season. God, you are good to those who wait for you, and to those who seek you. Lord, may I always be filled with the joy of the Holy Spirit and may my soul rest in you. In Jesus Name, Amen!
