Holy Lord, how blessed am I to have this opportunity to commune with the creator and sustainer of all things. When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon, and the stars you set in place, what is mankind that you concern yourself with us, human beings that you care for us? Oh God, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
I approach you humbly, acknowledging that I am imperfect. But I thank you that in Christ my sins are forgiven. Lord, I put aside all distractions, and I command my spirit to be alert and my mind to be still in the presence of the Living God. I enter this time of devotion and prayer with great expectancy. My heart is open, and my spirit is ready. Oh God, please speak to me, reveal deep things, and may your word teach, correct, and train me in righteousness. Show me how I am to live and your will for my life in every situation. Draw near to me, oh God, as I draw near to you.
I believe that I will leave our time of meeting changed because of the glory of your presence. Thank you, Lord, for this time of fellowship. Amen.
